Overview

The Taj Mahal is a white marble tomb built by the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his wife Mumtaz Mahal. Construction began in 1632 and took about 20 years to complete.

It is renowned for its perfect symmetry, intricate inlay work, and the way the marble reflects different colors depending on the time of day. The complex includes gardens, mosques, and reflecting pools.

The Taj Mahal is widely regarded as one of the greatest architectural achievements in the world and a timeless symbol of love and devotion.
